Is the Thai Sikh school about to sacrifice its principles?

Re: “Reply from the Thai Sikh International School”, Have Your Say, April 1.

We deem the clarification offered by board member Mr Suthep Kittikulsingh incomplete and remain concerned about the future of the Thai Sikh International School.
The school was the brainchild of Sikh immigrants and was founded on land donated mostly by Sikh brethren for the well-being of their community.
If the school has been mismanaged by the present board, the Sikh common man must not be made to suffer. If you cannot do the job, find other capable brethren to fill the positions.
TSIS takes great pride in producing many excellent students. You do not have the right to deprive the present or future generations of our children their right to education at TSIS. This cannot be culminated as a business deal. This was a service to the community.
Giving the management to a global chain will definitely raise the fees to a level not affordable for the majority of the Sikh community.
And this will kill the concept and the very foundation on which the institution was born.
This is a humble request from the man on the street: Please rethink your current course of action.
Someone up there is looking down. Beware lest you cross the line and make it hard to return.
