Bangkok Art and Culture Centre’s popular movie screening and discussion event Cinema Diverse is back and this year the theme is “The Invisible Hands”.

Four international films, selected by four behind-the-scenes people in the film industry, will be shown bi-monthly from May to November 2017. After each screening, there will be a post-screening talk and a Q&A session to discuss ideas and thoughts about the film.
The event kicks off on May 20 with Vietnamese film “Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere”, the choice of award-winning film editor Chonlasit Upanigkit,.
“It’s a movie where you can clearly see the editing effects. Although this movie hasn’t many cuts, it has a semi-reality and semi-dream feel to it,” says Chonlasit who has worked on several films including “Freelance: Ham puay... Ham phak... Ham rak mor”, which won him the Subhanahongsa award for best editor.
“Flapping” focuses on a couple who discover that they are going to have a baby. However, they are not ready yet so they try to find money to get an abortion.
The film was screened at the 2014 international film festivals in Venice and Busan.
Registration begins at 2pm and the film starts showing at 5. Tickets are Bt60 including a programme book.
The film is rated 18+. Find out more at www.Bacc.or.th.
