Thomas Turk says I am poorly informed for saying humans don’t “need” dairy. Well let’s take a look at what milk is.
According to the Oxford dictionary milk is “an opaque white fluid rich in fat and protein, secreted by female mammals for the nourishment of their young”.
Take note of the last part of the sentence, “for the nourishment of their young”. It doesn’t say milk is secreted for the nourishment of the “old”. And it certainly doesn’t say it’s secreted for the nourishment of a totally different species - both young and old.
Do any other mammals on the planet suckle from a totally different species? No.
Do any other mammals on the planet suckle for their entire lifetime? No.
Is it feasible that humans alone were designed so imperfectly that they would need to suckle from a cow for their entire life time in order to obtain their nutrients? Of course it isn’t.
The Dairy Industry has cleverly duped consumers and health professionals alike into believing that a calf’s baby food is an “important” human food – which, of course it isn’t.
As for dairy being required for strong bones, the reverse is true. The countries with the highest intake of dairy are the countries with the highest rates of osteoporosis and bone fractures.
Please open your eyes to the truth. We have no more need of cows’ milk than we have of rat’s milk. This industry exists solely to make money and millions of cows and their calves are the innocent victims.
