“Thailand is currently promoting its 4.0 policy, which is designed to drive the national economy through technology, creativity and innovation. Creating talented designers who meet international standards is key to pushing Thailand towards that direction,” noted Professor Sakorn Suksriwong, the institute’s director. “CIDI programmes are developed from Italian courses, the world’s leader in design. CIDI also has lecturers with years of international design experience and has expanded its academic collaboration with many leading design institutes. This helps CIDI apply the knowledge from around the world to improve the education in Thailand and broaden the vision of Thai designers.
“The work of students in fashion design and interior and product design exhibited today represents the talent of Thai designers who came from various backgrounds. Some inexperienced students with passion for design are capable of creating work that can compete in an international arena after taking the CIDI course, leading to a promising career path and strong business. This will become an engine that drives forward the Thai economy.” Professor Sakorn concluded.
The Institute is now accepting applications for its courses and will host open houses on July 8 and 23, 2017, to introduce the courses, display the work of students, and give prospective students a chance to talk to alumni who have created their own brands and entered the world of design.
