New chef for luxury Naka Island

New chef for luxury Naka Island

Luxury resort and spa The Naka Island in Phuket took to social media this week to announce the appointment of Jonathan David Bruell as new executive chef

Bruell, who has 35 years experience in the hospitality industry, will lend his culinary expertise to ensure that every stay at The Naka Island is an enriching and authentic experience for all the senses.
“My philosophy on food is to use fresh, local ingredients to create a clean taste; from the pan to the plate with flavour, texture and simplicity,” says Bruell.
Bruell started his career in London in 1980 at The Berkeley Hotel and continued his journey in 5-star hotels in several countries, from Egypt to South Korea, Bahrain, Vietnam, and Australia. He moved to Thailand to take up the position as Chef De Cuisine of Bodega Restaurant, Phuket, before accepting the post at the Naka Island.
The Naka Island is an exclusive all-villa island hideaway. Nestled among lush coconut groves, with never-ending views of the emerald-green Phang Nga Bay and idyllic landscapes of the Phuket coastline, it is just 25 minutes from Phuket International Airport and accessible only by private speedboat.
The resort offers 67 villas with private plunge pools and tropical gardens, along with a spa, outdoor recreation activities, and uncompromising service.
Thai cuisine and other flavours of the region are celebrated in The Naka Island’s restaurants and Z Bar. The resort features Tonsai, an all-day dining restaurant in a casual, beautiful seaside setting. For the ultimate al fresco dining, My Grill, an open beachside grill house, offers the freshest seafood and juiciest steaks with a southern Thai influence.
