Bangkok PM2.5 drops to ‘good’ range, but Lat Krabang still tops the list

Bangkok’s PM2.5 average has fallen to 23.2 µg/m³, below the 37.5 µg/m³ limit, with most zones in the ‘good’ range, though some eastern and southern areas are moderate.

The Bangkok Air Quality Information Centre on December 9 at around 7am reported citywide levels of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) not exceeding 2.5 microns.

PM2.5 levels are on a downward trend and overall air quality is now rated as good. The citywide average was measured at 23.2 microgrammes per cubic metre (µg/m³), well below the Thai standard of 37.5 µg/m³.

The 12 districts with the highest PM2.5 readings were:

  1. Lat Krabang – 34 µg/m³
  2. Bang Rak – 33.6 µg/m³
  3. Sathon – 31.4 µg/m³
  4. Phra Khanong – 29.1 µg/m³
  5. Khlong Sam Wa – 28.2 µg/m³
  6. Prawet – 27.8 µg/m³
  7. Min Buri – 27.8 µg/m³
  8. Pathumwan – 27.5 µg/m³
  9. Bang Kholaem – 27.3 µg/m³
  10. Bang Phlat – 27 µg/m³
  11. Ratchathewi – 26.6 µg/m³
  12. Nong Chok – 26.1 µg/m³
