Bangkok PM2.5 levels ease, air quality rated moderate citywide

Citywide PM2.5 averaged 25.7 µg/m³ on Sunday (December 7), below the national limit but still at a moderate level in several districts.

  • Bangkok's citywide average PM2.5 level was 25.7 µg/m³, which is below the standard safety limit of 37.5 µg/m³.
  • The city's overall air quality is currently assessed as moderate, with PM2.5 levels reported to be on a downward trend.
  • All districts recorded PM2.5 levels within the safety standard, with the highest reading being 36.8 µg/m³ in Nong Khaem.

Bangkok’s Air Quality Information Centre on Sunday reported the latest levels of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) across the capital.

At about 7am, the citywide average stood at 25.7 µg/m³ (standard limit 37.5 µg/m³).

 

 

The 12 districts with the highest PM2.5 readings were as follows:

  • Nong Khaem: 36.8 µg/m³
  • Lat Krabang: 33.9 µg/m³
  • Bang Rak: 33.7 µg/m³
  • Bang Kho Laem: 33.7 µg/m³
  • Khlong Sam Wa: 31.1 µg/m³
  • Thawi Watthana: 30.7 µg/m³
  • Pathumwan: 30.4 µg/m³
  • Bang Bon: 30.1 µg/m³
  • Min Buri: 29.9 µg/m³
  • Thon Buri: 29.7 µg/m³
  • Samphanthawong: 29.6 µg/m³
  • Phasi Charoen: 29.1 µg/m³

By zone, the readings were:

  • Northern Bangkok: 21.1–25.5 µg/m³ – overall air quality rated good.
  • Eastern Bangkok: 19.9–33.9 µg/m³ – overall air quality rated moderate.
  • Central Bangkok: 16.8–29.6 µg/m³ – overall air quality rated good.
  • Southern Bangkok: 16.3–33.7 µg/m³ – overall air quality rated moderate.
  • Northern Thonburi: 22.6–30.7 µg/m³ – overall air quality rated moderate.
  • Southern Thonburi: 22.9–36.8 µg/m³ – overall air quality rated moderate.

PM2.5 levels are on a downward trend, with Bangkok’s overall air quality currently assessed as moderate.
