Two join board of wind energy holding

Wind Energy Holding, a renewable-energy company, has added Ronnie Mo, chief financial officer, and Brian Barry, head of engineering and performance, to its board of directors.

Mo joined the company this year and has more than 27 years of experience in the energy and consumer space.

Barry joined WEH last year and brought significant experience as both a consultant and developer in the wind-energy space, having held roles at Mainstream Renewable Power, SSE Renewables and Mott MacDonald.

The board meanwhile has received a formal letter from Renewable Energy Corporation Co, a 61-per-cent shareholder, stating that it is looking into strategic options regarding its stake in WEH.

founder raises

stake in Wha corp

WHA Corporation’s major shareholder has raised his stake after sharp drops in its stock price, citing his confidence in the company’s long-term growth potential.

“I personally bought WHA shares on the board. Recent drops in the share price followed the stock market on concerns over falls in oil prices and rumours,” Somyos Anantaprayoon, president and chief executive officer, said yesterday.

WHA is conducting studies on investing in warehouses and distribution centres in Malaysia and Myanmar on expectations of reaching a conclusion late next year, said Somyos, who founded WHA.

The company plans to join in investment with an ally, while acquiring assets and leasing them in Myanmar. After the warehouse’s construction is completed, it will be sold to the WHA Premium Growth Freehold and Leasehold Real Estate Investment Trust.

Indonesia’s Bt800-million warehouse will be sold to the fund in 2017.
