It is cut by Bt764 million from the amount approved by the Cabinet in 2010 (Bt62.5 billion).
Prasong Poontaneat, chairman of the board, said that the investment has been submitted to the National Economic and Social Development Board. It is expected to be forwarded to the Cabinet for final approval within this month.
The investment calls for the construction of several projects, including the building of 28 more parking bays, the expansion of the existing passenger terminal, the construction of the second passenger terminal, and a new runway.
All the projects are slated for completion in 2020. Then, Suvarnabhumi Airport will be able to accommodate 85 million passengers in 2020, from 45 million at present.
