OfficeMate aims for 15% surge

OFFICEMATE SAYS it aims to be a one-stop business-solutions centre that will support the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises, while pursuing a sales-growth target of 15 per cent to exceed Bt7.5 billion this year.

Worawoot Ounjai, chief executive officer of COL, which operates OfficeMate stores, said the group’s revenue last year was Bt11 billion, growing by 9 per cent over the preceding year thanks to restructuring of the organisation as well as adjusting its operational and management strategies for greater efficacy.
The range and quantity of various products and services were also increased to serve client requirements better and provide sufficient coverage to meet the demands of different business sectors, he said. These changes were made to enable the group to retain its leadership as Asean’s foremost storefront and online retailer.
The company’s 2017 plans were premised on spotting new investment opportunities, laying a strong foundation for future growth and maintaining the group’s role as a leading retailer of office supplies and educational and entertainment products, and ensuring that COL Group remains a key driver in developing Central Group’s online businesses.
This year’s sales are expected to grow by 10 per cent, equivalent to revenue of Bt12 billion.
The company has made plans to maintain its liquidity and financial strength required to support its corporate goals this year. All ongoing investments including expansion by opening new branches domestically and overseas will be carefully evaluated.
At present, expansion plans that are under way include growing new areas for sales of office equipment, IT-related products, and other products across Asia. The first store has already been established in Vietnam.
About Bt1 billion has been invested towards constructing a new “smart warehouse” that will elevate the quality of the company’s logistics so it can handle a wider range of products and ensure that customers receive better service with more accurate and faster delivery of their orders.
Wilawan Rerkriengkrai, managing director of OfficeMate, predicted that sales would grow by 15 per cent over last years, amounting to revenue of Bt7.5 billion. The company is expected to break through the Bt10-billion mark by 2020.
This latter target will be achieved by making OfficeMate a “one-stop business-solutions” centre with the expansion of its customer base across every business sector and supporting the growth and expansion of domestic SMEs by sourcing new products and services.
Examples include innovative products such as cash registers, printers and barcode scanners, and multi-function printers that will have wider value selections for all types of businesses.
To reinforce OfficeMate’s leadership among businesses, organisations and SMEs across Thailand, a new brand campaign will be launched this year under the concept “partnership to success”.
