Well-funded Zanroo ready to expand global presence

Well-funded Zanroo ready to expand global presence

With healthy funding and its “game-changing” Arun software in place, Thai marketing-tech start-up Zanroo is ready to further expand its presence in the global market.

The company claims to be the fastest-growing “insight discovery” service provider in Southeast Asia.
With its strong competence in big-data analytics, Zanroo’s insight-discovery platform tracks, analyses and processes consumer feedback about brands, products, services, people and activities on social-media services and turns them into actionable insights.
In just four years, the company has grown exponentially, having built a client base of more than 300 leading brands in the banking, automotive, telecom, e-commerce, aviation and consumer-goods sectors.
On Tuesday, Zanroo announced a new milestone to make its business foray into the US$24.18-billion (Bt824 billion) global market for marketing-technology and advertising-tech services.
With funding of $7.4 million raised from its Series A round, its proprietary insight-discovery platform Arun in place, and strong teams of local professionals, Zanroo is well-positioned to secure a solid foothold internationally in a bid to become the next unicorn start-up.
“When Zanroo was founded in 2013, we were a two-people company,” recounted Chitpol Mungprom, CEO and co-founder of Zanroo. “Today… we’re active in 15 markets with more than 150 people working in our offices in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and the UK…
“On the software front, our social listening and social engagement tools delve deep into the online social-media realm of each market of interest with high linguistic literacy of all local languages across the world.
“In terms of consultancy, we help brands turn these actionable insights into marketing assets for strategic planning that will ensure their winning moves and effective crisis interception and management. And noteworthily, Zanroo is the first company in this field to have been awarded an ISO 27001 certification for customer-data protection,” he explained.
In partnership with fund-raising consultancy Shift Ventures, the company recently raised $7.4 million in its Series A financing round to finance its business inroads into the global marketing-tech space, including Asia, the US and Europe.
Udomsak Donkhampai, chief technology officer and co-founder, said of the newly developed Arun software: “With well-thought-out, well-designed algorithms, Arun is blessed with the ability to process big data quickly and intelligently. For the first time in the world of digital marketing communication, it integrates tracking of paid, owned and earned media to measure the return on investment all-inclusively.”
Chitpol added: “Arun will be the game-changer, due to its capability to help brands around the world spur their business and increase their marketing performance. We’re confident that Zanroo will achieve its Bt260-million revenue target this year. And by 2019, Zanroo will be present in 40 markets worldwide with revenues reaching $30 million…
“We also envision Zanroo as the first Thai brand to become a unicorn start-up [valued at $1 billion or more] and one of the world’s top-10 marketing-tech companies.”
