As part of this goal, it expects to have 1.5 million broadband and Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) users by the end of this year.
Anurut Uthairat, senior executive vice president of the fixed and broadband business unit at TOT, said the unit would focuses its business on three main areas: broadband Internet services, fixed-line and information technology solutions such as smart home solutions, and IP Phone solutions to support the government and private sectors.
The company provides broadband Internet services, under TOT Fiber 2U, to support customers nationwide. It has created a promotional campaign, Net Revo, with broadband Internet packages ranging from Bt590 to Bt1,200 per moth.
The company has around 1.3 million users, with 1 million on broadband users and the rest on the ADSL service.
The company expects to reach 1.5 million users by the end of this year, with 1.25 million on broadband and the rest on ADSL.
It aims to have a market share of around 20 per cent for broadband Internet services. The total market value for broadband Internet services is around Bt67 billion. The firm is now No 3 in market and expects to become the No 2 operator in the next three years.
The company will invest Bt500 million to lay down infrastructure to support broadband Internet services as well as around Bt100 million on marketing to drive growth this year.
The company’s fixed and broadband business unit gained revenue of Bt18 billion last year.
