The Salaya Mall in Nakhon Pathom recently joined with cycling club Bike Finder to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the fun activity “The Salaya Bike Community: Chuan Khon Sod Ma Pun Pen Khoo” (“Single Seeks Soul Mate”).
The activity started at noon with 150 cyclists, among them movie director Nonzee Nimibutr, “In” magazine editor Paritas Kongpien, bicycle guru Watcharin Leartbanjong, artist Ie Weeranukul, Eurosport channel director Daniel Blessing, DJ Ek Krisanavarin and his wife Korrapin Puangpo, former Hijack member Jaturong “X” Kolimas and Shane Muangkroot of Smith & Shane, meeting at the mall’s Stargate Square.
Manasawee Santananukarn, who runs a bike clinic, led participants through a set of warm up exercises before the group set off on the 10-kilometre ride to the paddy fields of Rim Khlong Mahasawat and Baan Saladin, a natural museum showcasing the nuts and bolts of the water management efforts of the Mahasawat community.
Wanchai Sawasdi, chair of Mahasawat Agriculture Housewife Group, demonstrated how to make EM Mud Ball in shape of a heart and was quickly joined by cyclists eager to have a go.
All too soon, it was time to head back to Salaya Mall where the cyclists relaxed to romantic love songs crooned by The Positive’s singer.
When “Khor Chan” was played, the cyclists were asked to write a wish on a paper in shape of heart and hang it on The Salaya Tree. And when the song “Din Daen Haeng Khwam Rak” was played, they exchanged gifts.
Two cyclists were selected at random as the lucky winners of a Trek road bikes while another cyclist was presented with a mini road bike.
