In the capital the red shirts take firm control of any opponent. In the countryside they take control over whole villages and name and declare them red-shirt villages. It must be high time for educated people to wake up and oppose and stop this dictatorial politics from evolving. Some influential folk have to stand up and explain to the nation what democracy is before this last attempt at democracy fails fatally and Thailand suddenly wakes up with the red shirts' version of democracy. If times evolve like now, a coup and the military in power seems to be more democratic than what Thaksin and the red shirts ever have practised or stand for. The military doesn't represent only one man and his interests.
Democracy in all tropical countries seems to have a hard time to come true. Educated people who want the best for all get overrun by the selfish greedy people. Maybe democracy isn't made for hot countries? If not, why?
