Ratthapark "Feem" Wilairot says he is upset at being forced to sit out the Malaysia Grand Prix this weekend after suffering an injury in a crash at the Australia Grand Prix last week.

The Thai Honda Singha SAG rider was sent sprawling after colliding with Spain’s Marc Marquez during the practice session last Friday. The 23-year-old was rushed to hospital with injuries to several parts of his body, and missed the race at the Phillip Island circuit as a result.
The crash is the latest in a series of mishaps for the Thai this year, which began with a career-threatening accident in his hometown of Chon Buri in December.
Ratthapark, who has so far endured a largely forgettable campaign which has seen him collect only four points from 15 races, landed in Bangkok yesterday for further medical checkups. Though scans have shown no fracture, doctors have told him to stay off the bike for at least a week, meaning he will not compete in the penultimate race of the season at the Sepang circuit on Sunday.
Asked about the incident, for which leading Moto GP leading riders Casey Stoner and Valentino Rossi condemned Marquez’s reckless riding after the Spaniard hit him at nearly full speed with the session already completed, the Thai insisted he didn’t hold a grudge against the Spanish rider.
“It was one of those bad days. I watched it again on TV when I arrived at the hospital. But, I forgave him for what happened because for me it was only an ontrack accident.
“He has apologised to me already. But, in my opinion, he should ride more carefully, particularly when other riders slow their pace at the end of the session.”
Ratthapark admitted his disappointment at missing out on a race at one of the tracks he’s most familiar with. But he remains optimistic about joining the season-ending race in Valencia next month.
“It’s really disappointing for me to miss the race at Sepang. It’s a track I know well and one I like. I’m quite confident I would have had a strong showing but both the doctor and my team agreed I should rest for the final race in Valencia.”
