'Yes way!' insist Oak and Opal

Online punters are agog that singing dermatologist Smith “Oak” Arayaskul and actress-TV host Panisara “Opal” Primpru are now fficially a couple.

They separately revealed during TV and radio appearances
last week that they’ve been seeing each other for four
months, but then people started demanding proof
that this is for real.
First there were more of the nasty but recurring
comments that Oak deserves someone better-
looking than Opal, along the lines of Miss Thailand. Oak
tried not to sound furious when he pointed out that
Opal is indeed beautiful and also has a good heart.
Also unnecessarily in question is the fact that Oak
has a girlfriend at all. He’s never been romantically
linked to anyone – so of course he must be secretly
gay. Opal insists he’s not.
“My hawk eyes wouldn’t miss that. And I have lots of
gay friends who would surely tell me if he was!”
Next, serial sceptics suggest they’re pairing up for
purely commercial reasons.
Maybe this is a promotional stunt for Opal’s upcoming
solo stage show. This seems unlikely since the
show is already sold out.

Fees for females

Okay, everybody sit down because we
have the unofficial updated list of Thailand’s
top-paid actresses. The best-paid one is no surprise:
Patcharapa “Um” Chaichua is commanding
Bt150,000 per episode for TV series, Bt150,000 per
public appearance and Bt8.6 million to shill for
retailers.
Then comes the queen of Channel 3, Araya
“Chompoo” Hargett, who earns Bt75,000 per
episode, Bt120,000 per event and Bt7 million to
push products.
Third is Chermarn “Ploy” Boonyasak, who
makes the same as Chompoo for TV series and
commercials but will attend your birthday party for a
mere Bt100,000.
Ann Thongprasom earns Bt80,000 per week on TV
series – more than Chompoo and Ploy – but will
attend public events for Bt90,000 and do commercial
stuff for Bt6 million.
Barely scraping by is Kemmanij “Pancake”
Chamikorn, who takes home just Bt65,000 per TV
episode, Bt80,000 per appearance and Bt5 million
to flog skin whitener.
