Popular alternative magazine A Day launches the second edition of its Bike Festival

After a first successful outing last year, the A Day Bike Fest 2013 will be back at the Makkasan Airport Rail Link’s terminal from November 7 to 10.
The magazine’s editor Zcongklod Bangyikhan is also inviting cyclists to join a special cycling trip tomorrow to help promote this second event and make it even more of a success.
The ride starts at 6am in Sanam Luang and will cross Somdet Phra Pinklao Bridge before continuing along the road parallel with Thanon Borommaratchachonnani before returning to Sanam Luang at 10.
“We would like to show the power of cyclists and also persuade more Thai people to ride, as it’s good for the health and also helps reduce air pollution.
"We are also supporting the  project to turn Bangkok into a cycling city,” Zcongklod noted during the recent press conference at Siam Centre.
More than 150 bike shops are slated to take part in the 2013 festival and will be featuring such brands as LA Bicycle, Dahon, Inter Bike, Tiny Wheels and Saelee. There’ll also be an exhibition of vintage and limited edition bikes, an Active Healthy Living Zone sponsored by Coke, as well as a marketing zone for bike parts and accessories. Cyclists and celebrities will be on stage to talk about a variety of projects, including the cycling city project and why the Netherlands is the world’s most important cycling nation.
They include Dome Pakorn Lump, Jirayus “Jo” Wattanasin, Pita Limjaroenrat, Wongthanong Chainarongsingha, Krit Krisanavarin, Piphat “Top” Apiraktanakorn and Ketsepsawat “Na Nake” Palakawong Na Ayudhaya.
Scrubb, Slot Machine, Sixty Miles, Pae Arak and The Pisaj Band, Savena, Waan Thanakrit, Tul Apartment Khunpa, Pang-Ko, and WhatChaRaWaLee will be playing acoustic sets to keep fairgoers entertained and there’s also a lucky draw to win a bike as well as air tickets.
