Sensational British DJ Krafty Kuts unleashes his diverse grab bag of tracks in Bangkok tomorrow

Breakbeat fans in Thailand get to party with the genre’s top star tomorrow night when DJ-producer Krafty Kuts rolls into the newly refurbished Club Lounge at Ku De Ta Bangkok.
Based in Brighton, England, Krafty is one of those people referred to as “legends” when it comes to electronic music. Mythical or not, he’s the undisputed “King of Breaks”. His multi-genre sets, dexterity on the deck and dedication to dance-floor hedonism has earned him elite status in every sub-genre of electronic music.
Krafty Kuts, whose real name is Martin Reeves, is a multiple-award-winning DJ and producer acclaimed in the UK, adored in Australia and admired in North America. Last year Reeves released his latest single, “Feel Like Jumpin”, on his aptly titled album “Let’s Ride’’, which is a journey into his eclectic and energetic world.
Spanning genres and generations, “Let’s Ride’’ features everything from funk, soul, hip-hop, jazz, electro and dubstep to drum-and-bass.
Reeves continues to make waves on the dance-music scene after more than a decade with his new label, Instant Vibes, which assures him full creative control. With the maestro in the driving seat, he continues his love affair with breaks by bringing through new talent like Marten Hoerger, Calvertron and Jay Robinson. He’s also reunited with long-time collaborator A Skillz, with whom he made the beloved album “Tricka Technology”. They’re now working on a remix and video to follow up on the “50 Years of James Bond” mega-mix that was supported by Annie Mac and Radio 1.
From humble beginnings, Reeves is now one of the big players on the world club-scene. It’s been an enviable career that’s drawn accolades ranging from topping the Breakspoll eight times, being named best international DJ and copping Best Single of the Year from DJ Mag, plus performing alongside the Prodigy, Fatboy Slim and even the Rolling Stones.
Reeves developed his passion for electronic music in the late 1980s after winning a DJ competition at age 12. He opened his own record shop, through which he identified a sound for his style – a hip-hop-funk infusion of up-tempo beats. His dedication to pushing the boundaries of turntablism propelled Reeves to the forefront of electronic music and has kept him centre stage for over a decade.
Fans will agree that Krafty Kuts’ popularity is due to his passion for what he does and constantly pushing the boundaries of turntablism, coupled with an unfaltering ability to deliver the finest, most eclectic and endlessly inspiring beats time after time to his fans.
Krafty Kuts has proved that breaks music has risen from the ashes and is here to stay. His hugely popular club night “An Evening with Krafty Kuts” has taken over venues across the UK, from Brighton to Liverpool. His calendar is also filling up rapidly and he’s already booked to play at every major global festival.
