Jaspal Home brings a selection of unique decor pieces to its new store at Central Embassy

JASPAL HOME’S new store on the fourth floor of Central Embassy offers far more than the luxury bedding and home spa and bath products for which the brand is known. Now shoppers can also find a selection of art items guaranteed to bring a mark of individuality to any home.
Open for four months, the 200-square-metre store has an asymmetrical layout and moves away from trendy industrial chic to an open and clean ambi?ence that adds to the shopping experience. Judicial use of mirror-polished stainless steel, brown-glass mirrors and pleated fabrics are used to adjust the space to match the mood of the display.
“This store focuses on a selective range of home decor products that bring a new dimension to the retail business. The inte?rior gives off the sense of a gallery and allows us to highlight special objects. We offer special items by artists and innova?tors from across Europe and most of the products are not available elsewhere in Thailand. Having been in business for 21 years, we’ve grown to understand the expectations of consumers,” says market?ing and sales director Tarun Puri.
Available exclusively at this store is La Collezione bed linen made from the finest Egyptian cotton with a 900-thread count for maximum softness and which boasts an artisanal finish for a warm and natu?ral feel.
Then there’s a Megaphone that is both functional device and art object. Made in Italy, this passive amplifier is meticu?
lously handmade from porcelain and pre?cious metals including gold, copper and platinum. Designed to increase vibration and optimise the emission of sound, it comes with a wooden support that makes it appear to float on the table. It’s ergonomic too and a perfect match for the multifaceted sound functions of an iPhone (4 to 5s models) without the need for any electricity or hi-tech accou?trements.
“People don’t change their lifestyles and habits but they do want more choic?es. And our objective is to offer more choices for their lifestyles. Right now, liv?ing spaces are becoming smaller so peo?ple are more selective when they buy. They like limited editions. Every object they have in their houses, they’re proud to dis?play. With limited space you can’t afford clutter,” Tarun says.

Another highlight is a collection of vin?tage-style handmade porcelain wheat straw vases by a Dutch artist and inspired by an ancient Chinese craft. The flowers of straw are glued on the vase and finished with a plastic coating that helps the embellishment stand out. A series of lamps inspired by cosmology are made from Demure art glass from Germany and give off an enigmatic mirror image of the planets.
“There are similar motifs in Thailand’s Benjarong ware and China’s floral porce?lains. These offer more of a fusion look. Thai consumers who understand the beauty of Benjarong know how to appre?ciate it as a kind of art. We just give them a variety of choices,” Tarun says.
“We bring the taste of Europe – classical, Renaissance and contemporary – to Thailand.”
Add texture and personality to your bare wall with a versatile display of wall hangings that include a selection of landscape photographs reproduced on acrylic with a non-frame.
“People tend to buy second homes in the country or by the beach to relax and they love to spend quality time at these homes. So when they decorate, they look for interior decor items that please the eye and soothe the senses,” says Tarun.
