PTT presents the awards to the 6 winners of its fourth comic contest

Oil and gas giant PTT recently announced the six winners of its latest edition of the PTT Comic Contest on the theme “Energy Phenomenon” in a ceremony held on the ground floor of Siam Centre.
“On behalf of PTT, I would like to congratulate all 27 winners,” said Anchalee Wangweeramit, PTT’s vice president for Corporate Communications. 
“They really showed their creative abilities in interpreting energy as a scientific story that was easy to understand and enjoyable to read. Our thanks also go to our judges, who once again came together to make some tough decisions in deciding their winners of this fourth edition of the contest and happily exchanged their knowledge and experience with the contestants.”
The winner in the 13 to 18-year-old student category was Ployjaplern Paopanlerd, 16, of St Francis Xavier Convent School. First runner-up was Sirada Suepaisal, 17, of Satriwithaya School, while Warunyu Pokusuwan, 17, of Rayong Withayakhom School was declared second runner-up.
Atthachai Dadee, 28, won the top prize in the members of the public category with Prasanpan Phutang, 23, coming in second and Suriyan Namwong, 31, third.
More than 30 finalists attended the development camp and helped raise more than Bt100,000 in a charity activity to support art therapy for underprivileged children under the “Children Mind & Child Gallery” project.
The first prize winners in both categories received Bt70,000 in each, a trophy and the chance to work as a columnist and illustrator with A Day magazine for one year. The first runners-up winners were awarded Bt50,000 each and a trophy and the second runner-ups took home Bt30,000 and a trophy. 
The panel of judges comprised “Nine Lives” author Songsin Tiewsomboon, cartoonist Suthichat Saraphaiwanit who draws the “Joe-The Sea-Cret Agent” series, Veerachai Duangpla of “Innocent” fame, Wisut Ponnimit. Anushitt Kamnoi aka Kew Tam, as well as actor Thanawat “Pope” Wattanaputi.
The comic contest aims to open people’s eyes to the importance of energy conservation and foster the culture of energy consumption subconsciously as well as promote creativity and drawing skills with youth and public.
The winning works will be on show at PTT Headquarters on Viphavadi Road from Sunday through December 20. They will also be published in a free edition of A Day.
