Instead of trying to make silly, inconsiderate jokes at the expense of the loss of tens of innocent Egyptian lives, The Nation would have been better off depicting the true essence of what is going on in Egypt and the Middle East.
The newspaper could have published condolences or messages of solidarity with the families of those who lost their lives and with the people who are still courageously confronting an unprecedented wave of terrorism affecting Egypt and the Middle East.
The revolution of June 30, 2013, was an unprecedented act of mass civic engagement by 30 million Egyptians, who took to the streets to call for a new transitional government and stood against tyranny, extreme economic collapse, civic strife and blatant nepotism.
