DEVOTED fans packed the Crystal Grand Ballroom of Crystal Design Centre last week to watch powerful “trains” Pongsak “Aof” Rattanaphong and Thanida “Da Endorphine” Thamwimon performing their biggest hits in the “Music Station” concert, the fourth episode in the “Like & Share” series organised by FM 103 Like Satellite.
As ever the two “trains” brought a great deal of delight to their fans when they stopped at the “Station”, bringing them to their feet and happily singing along to both the ballads and the dance tracks.
Loud screams and applause greeted Da Endorphine as she chugged onto stage and kicked off her set with “Phap Luangta”. She followed up with the ballads “Nam Tem Kaew”, “Dai Yin Mai”, “Mai Khor Kor Ja Hai”, “Ying Roo Jak Ying Rak Ther” and “Rak Aoey” before leaving her own hits to cover such numbers as Sao Sao Sao’s “Rak Khue Fun Pai” and 25 Hours’ “Yin Dee Thi Mai Roo Jak”, a soundtrack from the popular movie “Guan Muen Ho” (“Hello Stranger”).
Aof Pongsak then headed out on stage and joined her on Apartment Khunpa’s “Mai Roo Jak Chan Mai Roo Jak Ther”, as well as on Da Endorphine’s very own “Mai Tong Roo Wa Rao Khob Kan Baeb Nai”.
The female rocker wound up her show with a set of soundtracks from the movies and TV series, among them “Yak Rak Tong Mai Klua Kham Wa Sia Jai” from “Rak 7 Pee Dee 7 Hon” (“Seven Something”), Silly Fools’ “Wad Jai” (“Hormones”), Paradox’s “Rudoo Ron” (“Love Julinsee”), and “Sing Samkhan” (“Pruek Sawat”).
Actress-singer Sriphan “Aon” Chunechomboon appeared on stage during the intermission and kept the audience in high spirits as she cracked joke after joke.
Screams again filled the air as Aof Pongsak came out onto stage with a set of melancholy hits that included “Hetphol 108”, “Would You Please”, “Wai Nai Jai”, “Ruang Jing Ying Kwa Niyai”, “Jak Khon Rak Kao”, “Phu Chai Khon Nee Kamlang Mod Raeng” and “Thang Khang Lang Thalu Thueng Huajai”, his powerful voice carrying the emotions into the audience and touching all his fans. He continued with Jessie J’s “Price Tag” and “Na Rak Na Love”, one of songs on which he worked with his label mates Palitchoke “Peck” Ayanaputra and Saranyu “Ice” Winaipanit under the name of Peck Aof Ice.
The second segment of his set was much more upbeat with Aof Pongsak performing Thai and foreign dance tracks, among them Rihanna’s “We Found Love” and “Only Girl”, Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor”, and Gusttavo Lima’s “Balada”, before taking on such massive Thai hits as Tata Young’s “Rub Kuan Mak Rak Kan”, “Sak Ka Nid” and “Malang”, J Jetrin’s “Fak Liang”, Marsha Vadhanapanich’s “Rak Yang Mai Tong Karn”, Thongchai McIntyre’s “Too Much So Much Very Much”, and Katreeya English’s “Ok Na Kha”.
He also surprised with a set of luk thung songs including Sunaree Ratchasima’s “Motorcycle Nung San”, Tai Orathai’s “Sao Ramwong”, Pornchita Na Songkhla’s “Do Re Me”, Fon Tanasunthorn’s “Ja Khor Kor Rib Khor”, Got Chakraphan’s “Chuan Nong Taeng Ngan” and Saoyae Jetima’s “Sao Loei Yang Ror”.
The concert came to an end with the two music trains moving away from the “Station” and the fans happily headed back home, no doubt counting the days until the next trains pull in at the station for their fifth stop.
