Radley, the handbag and accessories brand that's famed for its Scottish terrier logo, lands in Bangkok

OPENING ITS FIRST store in Thailand late last year, popular British brand Radley, instantly recognisable by that oh-so-cute Scottish terrier, adds panache to its range of leather bags by blending urban street fashion with top craftsmanship.
Australian entrepreneur Lowell Harder started her business from a clothing stall at London’s Camden Market and in 1998 set up her own brand boasting unique and refined leather bags in lively colours that captured the lifestyles of Londoners.

Radley quickly built up a reputation for smart designs, best quality materials and finest stitching and today it has branches in Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, Taiwan and Malaysia.
In Bangkok it’s run by Minor Corporation, a leading distributor of fashion brands such as Brooks Brothers, Banana Republic, Gap, Anello and Etam.
“We believe in Radley’s potential. Its designs represent London culture and that makes them popular with local buyers. Over the years the brand has developed several designs to make the bag more functional, elegant and durable,” says Nisarat Jaratsunthornphak, senior brand manager of Minor Corporation.
“Radley is famous for in-house design production and its design team takes inspiration from what they find in the local markets. The bags are crafted by veteran artisans in India and are designed to look simple but classy.

Hardwick cross body and grab bags with a detachable ziptop pouch

Located on the second floor of Gaysorn shopping mall, the newly opened boutique is gearing up for the Bangkok summer with the latest collections of colourful bags made with quality fabric and genuine leather.
Focusing on functionality to keep you well-organised, all bags are adorned with grosgrain lining and come with a zipped compartment and many slip pockets in different sizes, ideal for keys, a mobile phone, pens and purse.
The popular leather series includes the Berwick Street cross body bags, fashioned from panels of black and oyster leather in a striking striped effect while the Liverpool Street bags come in a modern classic look and are bordered by two full-length slip pockets. They’re available in black, burgundy, lolly pink and street blue.

Lively and playful, the Radley zip-top shoulder bag with a detachable strap is crafted to resemble that lovely little Scottie and can double as a clutch, so it looks as good with jeans as with a skirt.
“Our bags are lightweight and useful. The shoulder bags mostly come with removable leather straps, so customers can turn them into a clutch or handbag, depending on their style. We use leather in different textures and keep a silhouette that looks classic for any occasion. As part of after-sales service, we can remove slight scratches on a bag surface too,” Nisarat says.
Other best sellers are the vivid-shaded Pocket Essentials tote bags and backpacks that are waterproof thanks to particle-coated nylon, and the super-functional Tetbury leather purses with five slip pockets, 14 card slots, a zipped coin compartment and two slip pockets.
