
Trailing the three round leader Pavit five strokes before a two-hour rain break at start of the 10th hole, the 2016 All Thailand Tour rookie of the year rebounded to shoot four birdies to settle with a 69, leveling with the more experienced Pavit at 15 under-par-269 after the regular round before he sent home a 21 foot birdie putt on the 18 th hole play-off.
While the former SEA Games gold medallist shaped up his game as the round went on, which was a contrary to the case of Pavit whose play was hampered by a weak physical condition due to food poisoning.
“I made easy bogeys at the start but after the rain break I tried to regain my focus and shot scores when I needed to. To be honest I didn’t expect to win as the margin was quite big,” said Chanachok who celebrated his maiden professional win after turning pro in 2014.

It was sweet compensation for the 23-year-old from Tak province who blew away a three shot lead in the final of the ADT Boonchu Runagkit Championship at the Rancho Charnvee Resort and Country Club in Nakhon Ratchasima last December.
“I learned my lesson from that and it really benefitted me today. Back then I was so excited when I was putting but this week I became more calm which was the key,” added Chanachok who won his biggest prize money of BT300,000.
