Carlos Dunga’s agent said on Tuesday the former Brazil coach is likely to prefer a lucrative Chinese Super League outfit to Thailand national team’s vacant post.

The ex-Brazil captain’s representative met the Football Association of Thailand president Pol Gen Somyot Poompanmuang at the association’s headquarters yesterday and submitted the Brazilian’s resume for consideration.

However, Nathan Hall, representing Australia-based Sports Management, said the Thai team’s post was only a “second choice” for the 53-year-old, who reportedly received a lucrative offer of 3.5 million euros (Bt128 million) a year from a Chinese top-flight club.

“Dunga is currently in Brazil. He wanted to start negotiations with a Chinese club that tabled the offer first.  Money isn’t the most important thing. However, he’s a straight guy so he wanted to have talks with the Chinese team that contacted him first.

“He got an offer of 3.5 million euros a year, which is far more than that of the Thai FA’s offer.  And, there’s a possibility that he would reach an agreement with the Chinese club. Nevertheless, if that deal doesn’t happen, he would be ready to talk with the Thai FA.

“The talks with the Thai FA president went well but they wanted to speak with Dunga. But, as I said, he preferred to talk with Chinese team first. In the event of failing to secure a deal in China, the negotiations with the Thai FA would take place two or three weeks after that,” said Hall.

Meanwhile, ex-Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac became the third foreign trainer after German veteran Wilfried Schaefer and Sir Alex Ferguson’s former assistant Rene Meulensteen to meet Somyot earlier in the day to make a pitch for the national team post that became vacant following Kiatisak Senamuang’s abrupt departure last month.
