Wit spent more than two years working on this innovative masterpiece that cost Bt4 million and is earning plenty of admiring reviews.
The Habiko sculpture is basically the application of an intelligent robotic arm, commonly known by its trademark Kuka that possesses a high accuracy rate and brings to mind the highly advanced computerised artificial intelligence system called Jarvis in the “Iron Man” movies.
This is the first time that the intelligent robotic arm has been developed for the retail sector. It’s programmed to insert more than 3,000 needles into a round metal sculpture four metres in diameter to create an astonishing three-dimensional work of art. In addition, it is becoming an iconic art piece in itself, one that welcomes Bangkokians to the Robotic Age in which more robotic intelligence will be applied in the near future. This development fits well with the vision of Sansiri to become the leader in technological innovations and the modernisation of Thai society.
This robot-like artwork Habiko is on display at Habito Retail Mall on Sukhumvit 77 (Soi Onnut 1/1).
