“This year, The Mall Group’s Food Hall has joined forces with more than 20 well-known shops and hotels including Shanghai Mansion Bangkok, Dusit Thani Bangkok, Peninsula Bangkok, Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park and W Bangkok to bring the best mooncakes together in one place,” said Chutidej Poocharoentou, vice president of merchandising supermarket, The Mall Group.
Dusit Thani Bangkok offers a premium honey date palm mooncake with other popular fillings of durian, custard, lotus seed, mixed nuts and bird’s nest with lotus seeds. These mooncakes have been stamped with Dusit Thani Bangkok’s logo, placed in luxurious boxes modelled after the hotel, once the tallest building in Thailand, for all to commemorate this wonderful moment.
The special black truffle mooncake from Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park combines black truffle, roast chestnut, roast duck, egg yolk and lotus seed. The intense and natural truffle flavour blends nicely with the roast duck aroma and sweet roast chestnut, making for a divine taste.
W Bangkok presents the soft and creamy Japanese cheesecake mooncake. It also offers a range of unusual flavours including peanut butter, banana chocolate, raspberry and the popular original durian.
The golden snow-skin fresh durian mooncake from Shanghai Mansion Bangkok is delicious, sweet and fragrant. Made fresh daily, the mooncake is decorated with golden flakes for a luxurious touch and filled with soft, pesticide-free Monthong durian with no added sugar or preservatives.
Peninsula Bangkok is recognised for its egg custard, based on the original recipe by chefs at Mei Jiang Chinese restaurant. The outer shell texture is light and delicate and the yolks in the mooncakes are from organic eggs to ensure the best taste.
In addition to these unique mooncakes, the festival also features bite-size chocolate mooncakes from The Sukosol Bangkok, MX lava custard mooncakes by Maxim and Harrod mooncakes with fillings of rose buds royal milk, white truffle custard and blackcurrant hibiscus.
Simply W also serves the prosperity mooncake with pomegranate and rose in a honey-filled mochi dough and adorns each of them with alternating white and pink petals while Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok boasts mixed nut mooncake in nutty aroma and taste. It uses premium ingredients including Yunnan ham, kaffir strips, five grains, white sesame, candied squash, walnut, almond and cashew.
