Staff of Khao Yai National Park, which spans Nakhon Ratchasima, Prachin Buri, Saraburi and Nakhon Nayok provinces, have posted a list of do’s and don’ts on the park’s official facebook page and warned tourists who visit the Park during the winter season to beware of wild elephants, which are often seen walking across and along the roads.

The large number of foreign tourists visiting each year includes a large group that has started to look at condominiums to buy, so they can have a place to stay when they visit Phuket.Some also sought additional rental income when they were not in residence.

A bull elephant in rut from Khao Yai National Park apparently searchi0ng for its mate blocked the road in Prachin Buri on Sunday and looked likely to attack tourists’ cars, prompting park officials to use their vehicles as buffers between the aggressive male and tourists until the former eventually retreated into the forest.
