The Cabinet on Tuesday agreed to launch a third phase of the “Rao Tiew Duay Kan” (We Travel Together) to cover an additional 2 million applicants and has also approved the “Tour Tiew Thai” packaged tour scheme.

Ministers at today’s mobile Cabinet meeting in Rayong agreed to upgrade the “Rao Tiew Duay Kan” (We Travel Together) tourism stimulus scheme after it received a disappointing response from travellers. Only 660,000 of the 5 million nights of subsidised accommodation offered by the scheme have been booked by travellers since it started operating in July.

The Cabinet today agreed to improve the “Rao Tiew Duay Kan” (We Travel Together) domestic tourism scheme by increasing the value of weekday accommodation vouchers from Bt600 to Bt900 per day, to encourage travel between Monday and Thursday.

The newest Covid-19 cases should not affect the Rao Tiew Duay Kan (We Travel Together) scheme because there are not many patients and the Public Health Ministry can easily handle the issue, Finance Ministry spokesperson Lavaron Sangsnit said on Wednesday (July 15).
