Henk J Kiks, president and CEO of B-Quik, said total sales amounted to more than Bt3 billion this year. While the replacement-tyre market declined by 15 per cent during the fourth quarter due to the flood crisis, B-Quik tyre sales grew by 15 per cent, he said. “In 2012, we plan to carry on aggressive marketing both in the Bangkok area and upcountry, and will open no less than 10 new branches next year,” he said.
In 2011, the company opened nine new branches in Nakhon Ratchasima, Chiang Rai, Chachoengsai, Hat Yai, Samut Prakan, Phitsanulok, Prachuab Khiri Khan and Bangkok (two branches).
“The flood prevented us from opening three new branches during the fourth quarter, which will be delayed until 2012,” Kiks said.
Busararat Assaratanakul, the company’s chief operating officer, said B-Quik will spend more than Bt150 million to open new branches next year.
“However, we may open up to 15 branches as there are areas with enough potential,” she added.
Busararat said there is high demand and purchasing power in upcountry areas while the number of existing Bangkok branches is inadequate due to the increasing number of customers.
“There may be branches that are located very close to each other, such as on Sukhapiban 3 Road where we have branches at Big C and Tesco Lotus that are next to each other. This is to cater to the large number of customers in that area,” she said.
