V-Kool Group, authorised distributor of V-Kool automotive window film, has hired two managers from abroad to help drive business expansion at home as well as in the Asean region.
The group yesterday introduced Dallas Douangdara as its co-chief executive officer and Tommy Yeo as general manager. It said their experience not only in this region but also in many countries around the world would help the group meet its sales targets.
V-Kool Group plans to increase its share of the market from 3-7 per cent this year to 15-20 per cent next year and 30 per cent in 2014. Total value of the market for tinted film for car windows in Thailand is Bt3 billion. Of the total, premium-grade film accounts for 3-5 per cent, and the group is the market leader with 50 per cent of that segment.
However, the plan is to expand the customer base to capture more medium-class clients instead of focusing only on a niche market.

Konton Jaturapattarapanit, the group’s chief executive officer, said yesterday that with their experience in market analysis, Douangdara and Yeo would seek more business opportunities to ensure expansion into Asean countries such as Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Burma.
"Thailand is a logistics hub for those countries, which will facilitate our access to those potential markets," said Konton, adding the company should enter those markets no later than next year.
Currently, the group distributes two brands of automotive window film: V-Kool and German-made nano-ceramic Huper Optik film. Offering the nano-film will help expand the customer base in the medium group.
"We aim to become No 1 in automotive window film, so the medium-class group is our targeted customer," Konton said.
The company reported 60-per-cent growth in sales for two consecutive years. However, it has not disclosed its total value, saying only that the V-Kool brand accounts for 70 per cent of its sales and Huper Optik the remainder.
