U DRINK I Drive plans to expand its service to tourist destinations after a healthy passenger growth rate in Bangkok since the beginning of the year, but the company notes that there is little competition from Uber or GrabTaxi since it offers a different

“We are now serving more than 2,000 trips per month with a healthy growth rate of 30 per cent every month,” said Sirasom Borisutsuwan, co-founder and chief executive officer of U Drink I Drive.
The company’s professional chauffeurs drive customers’ cars home anywhere in Bangkok for a starting fee of Bt500 for the first 5 kilometres.
“Going forward we plan to offer a driver-on-demand service that operates 24 hours on our application as we can see high demand for temporary – less than one month – drivers in the market, where customers want to customise hiring hours based on real usage. Also, we plan to expand our service to other main tourist cities such as Phuket, Chiang Mai and Pattaya, since these areas fit our customer |demographic,” she said.
Sirasom explained that GrabTaxi and Uber offered taxi services that were completely different and their target customer was not the same. U Drink I Drive serves partygoers who intentionally or unintentionally drive to a bar but do not have a way to get the car and themselves home safely afterwards.
Apinara Srikanchana, U Drink I Drive’s co-founder and chief of |corporate affairs, said every trip with the company was insured by its partner, Asia Insurance 1950. |It provides full accident coverage |for the driver, customers and the vehicle. This is another service |not offered elsewhere.
The company will launch its UDID application at its first-anniversary press conference tomorrow.
